Privacy Policy
What Laguna Niguel EV Charger collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
A plain note before you read on: this policy is a general template. It describes how this website is built to handle visitor information, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and it has not been checked against how the business runs day to day. Please have an attorney read it before relying on it.
Who we are
Laguna Niguel EV Charger is a licensed C-10 electrical contractor installing and servicing EV charging equipment in Laguna Niguel and the surrounding communities of south Orange County, California.
This policy covers information collected through this website. It does not cover information you give to another company you reach by following a link from this site.
What this site collects
There is exactly one place on this website that asks you for personal information: the Instant Quote calculator at /instant-quote. If you use it, we receive:
- your name
- your email address
- your phone number
- the service address where the work would be done
- the answers you give the calculator about your property, your electrical panel, your vehicle or charger, and the installation you are considering
There are no other forms on this site. There is no newsletter sign-up, no account login, and no chat widget. If you never open the calculator, you never hand us personal information through this site.
Separately, and like almost every website, the servers that host this site keep ordinary technical logs: the pages requested, the date and time, the browser and device type, the approximate region the request came from, and the page that referred you. That information is not tied to your name unless you also send us a quote request.
Why we collect it
We use what you give us for a short and specific list of things:
- to produce the estimate you asked for
- to contact you about that estimate and answer questions about it
- to arrange a site visit, a permit, or an installation if you decide to go ahead
- to keep records of work we have quoted and performed, including the paperwork a licensed contractor is required to keep
- to improve the calculator and the site, working from patterns across many requests rather than any one person's details
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a price.
How the Instant Quote estimate is produced
The calculator is a pricing tool. It is not a person, and it is not a credit, identity, or eligibility check. It takes the answers you type in and applies our standard pricing rules — the likely cable run, the capacity of your existing panel, whether trenching is involved, typical permit costs — to produce a preliminary range.
Nobody has inspected your property at that point. The calculator knows nothing about you beyond what you entered, and it makes no decision about you other than displaying a price range. A person reviews the details before that range becomes an actual quote, and the final figure can be higher or lower.
The terms that apply to that estimate are set out in our Terms of Service.
Who we share it with
Your details are seen by the people at Laguna Niguel EV Charger who need them to quote or carry out your job. Beyond that, information may be passed to:
- the service providers this business runs on, such as website hosting and email, which may use it only to provide that service to us
- a permitting authority, an inspector, or the electric utility, where your job requires a permit, an inspection, or a service upgrade
- our professional advisers, or a public authority, where the law requires it or to establish or defend a legal claim
- a buyer of the business, if it is ever sold, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not hand it to anyone for their own marketing.
Cookies and analytics
As this site is currently built, it uses only the cookies needed to make the pages work and to let the Instant Quote calculator hold on to your answers while you complete it. It does not use advertising cookies, and it does not follow you to other websites.
If measurement or analytics tools are added later, this section will be updated to say what is in use and what it records. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The pages will still work, though the calculator may forget answers you have already given.
How long we keep it
A quote request that does not turn into work is kept while it is still realistically useful to follow up on, and is then deleted.
Records tied to work we actually performed — the estimate, the invoice, the permit and inspection paperwork, and the warranty — are kept for as long as the warranty runs and for as long as a licensed contractor is required to keep them.
If you would like your details removed sooner, ask us and we will delete everything we are not legally required to hold.
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect what you send us, and we limit access to the people who need it to do your job. No website, email system, or internet transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that a message can never be intercepted. Please do not send bank or card details through this website. We will never ask you for them here.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to:
- know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we have disclosed it to
- receive a copy of that information
- have inaccurate information corrected
- have your information deleted, apart from records we are required by law to keep
- limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect the categories the law treats as sensitive
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share it, so there is nothing here to opt out of
- not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse you service, change your price, or lower the standard of the work because you asked
To make a request, use the contact details at the bottom of this page. We will ask for enough information to be satisfied that you are the person the records belong to, and we will respond within the period the law allows. Someone may make a request on your behalf if they can show that you authorised them to do so.
Children's privacy
This site is meant for adults arranging electrical work on a property they own or manage. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Links to other websites
Some pages link to organisations we do not control: charger manufacturers, electric utilities, rebate programs, and permitting authorities. Once you follow one of those links you are on their website, covered by their privacy policy, and this one no longer applies.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the effective date shown at the top. Where a change is significant, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing the text.
How to contact us
Questions about this policy, or a request about your own information, can go to any of these. Please say which page you are writing about so we can find your records quickly.
